Apple and hummus salad

Adding fruits to salad gives it that sweet taste which no one can say no to, but the need for a healthy protein source is vital, to keep you full for longer.

Hummus, a plant based protein which can be enjoyed by vegans and vegetarians, is a great addition to any salad. It goes perfectly with the sweet apple taste and with just the addition of some lemon juice, creates the perfect “dressing” to this simple salad.

Shredded lettuce
Chopped apple
1 tbsp hummus
Juice of 1 lemon

Shredded rommaine lettuce
1 chopped apple
1 tablespoon hummus
Juice of 1 lemon

I enjoyed this is a post workout snack, getting my protein from the hummus and carbs from the apple.

Remember, its never only about calories, its the perfect balance of healthy fats/carbs/protein to keep you full and satisfied, for correct and easy digestion. Its where you get these
